Story behind the photo – 129 – Am I with you Swami??
From the desk of Mumbai Srinivasan.
It was the year 1995. We were living in Chennai. I stood isolated from all my Sai friends. I started thinking that even Swami had abandoned me. I was facing some agonizing days. It was at that time a friend of mine from Delhi invited me to join him in the pilgrimage to Shirdi. I eagerly accepted this call and soon we were in Shirdi. After two days of intense and tearful prayers, we were preparing to leave for our homes. I went to Samadhi Mandir to take leave of Swami. In the middle of the enclosure, I sat for a while and started praying. I was mentally asking Shirdi Baba, whether I was with Him, or had he also abandoned me. I joined the Darshan Lines. I kept both my hands and head on the Sai Padhuga installed in the Samadhi. Since I was very emotional few drop of tears would have dropped on the Divine foot prints. Suddenly I felt somebody was taping on my back. I saw a security officer beckoning me to follow him. I entered a room. There were few people there, and found heaps and heaps of currency bundles kept on all possible places, like, Tables, cup boards, and every where.
A gentle man came to me and introduced himself as the Senior member of Sai Sansthan. He informed me that all the collection Hundi boxes had been opened that day and counted all the money. Then he produced the Cash book and explained to me the amount collected various denominations. He also told me that these collections had to be taken into account after an ordinary devotee, picked up in random, certified the collection.
He showed me all the bundles of currency and told me that an amount of Rs.17, 42,650 had been taken into account. He requested me to sign in the Sansthan Cash Book. He also told me that if I am not convinced they are prepared to count the money once again in my presence. I was emotionally choked up. I asked him to give me a pen.
As I was beginning to sign, my eyes were moist. The official asked me for my residential address, contact numbers and other details which were entered into the Cash Book.
Just a few minutes back, I was asking Baba, whether I was with Him or has He also abandoned me. Here, Baba was answering me that I am very much with him, by entering all my details in Sansthan Records. Fortunately, my tears dropped in a safe place away from my signature and other noting.
With this Divine assurance, I returned back to Chennai. More Divine dramas unfolded in the next few days. Please wait for my next posting.
